Sliding timber shutters
Made-to-measure timber shutters with Beematic SHU automation. Panels move sideways along a covered aluminium track, bringing shade and privacy with a layout designed around your windows and the wall space available.

The space beside the window matters
A sliding shutter needs somewhere to go when it opens. We plan the panel widths and travel together, checking the wall, window handles, sills, downpipes and nearby doors before agreeing the arrangement.
Panel layout
Single or paired leaves can be considered to suit the opening. The position of the panels when fully open is part of the design, rather than an afterthought.
Controlled movement
A suitable track carries the panels, with guides, end stops and restraints specified to suit the installation. Fixing strength and site exposure influence the hardware choice.
A coordinated finish
Natural timber character or a painted finish can be discussed. Louvre spacing, solid infill and frame proportions are agreed as part of the design.
Your sliding-shutter specification
Timber panels
Size: made to the surveyed opening and agreed parking space.
Construction: framed timber leaves, with louvred or solid infill discussed at design stage.
Material: timber species and section sizes selected for the design and exposure.
Finish: coating system, colour and maintenance guidance confirmed in the quotation.
Track & operation
Travel: horizontal, with single or paired arrangements assessed for the site.
Support: track, fixing substrate, guides, stops and retention assessed together.
Operation: Beematic SHU automation, with controls and electrical provision specified for the installation.
Final limits: leaf size and weight depend on the complete hardware arrangement; these are confirmed before manufacture.
Beematic SHU automation
We specify Beematic SHU for powered sliding shutters. A low-voltage geared motor drives the panels along the manufacturer’s aluminium track, while the outer cover conceals the belt and moving components. Choose a single leaf or a coordinated pair to suit the opening.

1 · Motor & belt
The SHUM12 geared motor drives a polyurethane belt around a return pulley, inside the covered upper track.
2 · Track & carriages
G25 is the catalogue 2.5 m single-leaf track with two carriages. G40 is the 4 m two-leaf track with four carriages.
3 · Timber shutters
We make the leaves to the agreed design. Panel weight, thickness, parking space, lower guidance and fixings are resolved together.
4 · Power & controls
The SHU2 controller takes a 230 V AC mains supply and provides 12 V DC motor power. Local and centralised commands can use wired controls or compatible radio transmitters.

These are manufacturer catalogue figures, not a guaranteed allowance for every completed shutter. The permitted leaf weight and dimensions must also suit the track, carriages, fixings and site exposure. The final limits are confirmed in your quotation.
Track, controls & optional accessories
Matched track: Beematic specifies its own catalogue track for SET1L and SET2L. We retain the matched track and carriage arrangement; substitutions require the manufacturer’s written approval.
Included drive components: the catalogue set lists the controller and switching power supply, one geared motor, a polyurethane belt and a return pulley. The specified guide/track, support hardware and lower guidance are resolved as part of the complete installation.
Controls: compatible options include the WALL2 wall transmitter and HOME six-channel handset at 433.92 MHz. Centralised commands, a suitable rain sensor or PLANO TWO/OneSmart integration can be discussed; these are specified options, not automatic inclusions.
Operation: electronic obstacle detection can stop or reverse travel according to the controller settings. Commissioning and the safety arrangements are confirmed for the installation. The irreversible drive is not a certified security lock.
Power: the SHU system in this catalogue is mains-fed at the controller. The RHA Plug-In battery and solar equipment belongs to the hinged-shutter range.

From your first sketch to the finished joinery
01 · Share the space
Send photographs, approximate dimensions and your postcode. Tell us which windows you want to cover and how you would like the shutters to move.
02 · Agree the details
We work through the layout, materials, finish and hardware, then set out the scope and price in a written quotation. Final dimensions and technical details are confirmed before manufacture.
03 · Make and supply
Your joinery is made to the agreed design. Supply-only orders can be delivered wherever required, with delivery priced for the destination. Ask us about fitting; availability depends on location and scope.
For payment stages, measuring visits and delivery arrangements, see ordering and payment.
Questions about sliding shutters
Can they be added to existing windows?
Potentially. We need to check the surrounding wall, fixing positions, projections and clear parking space. Send photographs of the whole opening and the wall on either side.
Will they provide blackout, insulation or security?
Shutters can help manage direct light and privacy, but the result depends on the infill, gaps and installation. We do not claim a blackout, insulation, wind-load or security rating for a proposed set without supporting evidence. Any lock or retaining hardware is specified separately from the operating mechanism.
Can you supply them for fitting elsewhere?
Yes. We supply only wherever required, with delivery charged for the destination. The agreed measurements, fixing requirements and installer responsibilities need to be clear before manufacture. Fitting by us is assessed by location and project scope.
