A finish that brings it together.
Colour and surface finish influence the character of the joinery as well as its protection and ongoing care.

Know exactly what “finished” includes.
Our quotations distinguish between preparation and a completed coating system. These are examples from specifications we have prepared.
Primer only
A recent window specification includes two coats of primer. Further coating is still needed; agree who completes it and when.
A full painted finish
Other specifications include primer, undercoat and two top coats. Colour and included surfaces are recorded with the order.
Visible timber grain
An oak specification uses a dip coat and three stain coats. Oils, stains and clear finishes have different appearances and care needs.
A good finish deserves good care.
Approve the colour
Use the agreed colour reference and a physical sample where needed. A screen cannot reliably show colour, sheen or the natural variation of timber.
Protect it on site
Allow for safe handling, dry storage and installation touch-ups. Your quotation identifies the finishing and fitting work included.
Keep an eye on it
Inspect coatings and exposed edges, clean gently and attend to damage promptly. Follow the care schedule for the coating actually supplied.
Care starts now. It continues for years.
Our two-year guarantee covers defects within the agreed scope. It is not a maintenance-free period: looking after the finish and fittings starts from handover and continues after the guarantee ends.
- Clean gently using the method recommended for the coating and hardware. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals and pressure washing unless the product instructions expressly permit them.
- Inspect exposed surfaces, edges, joints and seals regularly and after damage or severe weather. Attend to coating damage promptly with the specified compatible system.
- Keep drainage paths clear where fitted. Maintain and lubricate moving hardware as its manufacturer directs; ask for advice before forcing or adjusting a sticking window or door.
- Recoat according to the finish supplier’s instructions and the condition of the coating. There is no single repainting interval for every timber, finish and exposure.
If you are unsure whether a problem is a defect or routine maintenance, contact the workshop with photographs. We can discuss the cause and the next step. Your statutory rights are unaffected by the guarantee period.

Let’s talk through the details.
Keep approved colour references and care information with your project records. Screens and printed images cannot replace a physical colour sample.
