Heritage and period doors.
Door proportions, panel layouts and mouldings make a lasting difference to a traditional building. We make period-style timber doors from existing joinery, photographs and architectural drawings.

Respecting the original design
Panelled and boarded leaves, traditional beads, fanlights and sidelights can be developed around the building. An existing door or surviving detail provides a useful starting point.
Working with irregular openings
Frames, thresholds and clearances are considered around the existing masonry and floor levels. The scope of any alteration to the surrounding fabric is agreed in advance.

Materials and ironmongery
Painted or natural timber finishes can be paired with appropriate handles, hinges and locking. We can review selected hardware before machining the joinery.
Conservation requirements
Share relevant drawings and approval conditions early. Glazing, profiles and alterations must be agreed with the appropriate advisers before manufacture.
